Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has issued a solicitation for a two-phase design-build project to renovate and upgrade Building 257 at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The project is located at the West LA Campus and is set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses.

Work Details
The scope of work includes providing all necessary services for a Design/Build Construction Project, including design, labor, materials, construction equipment, technical skills, and transportation. The project involves remodeling the building with new flooring, ceiling, paint, bathroom remodel, interior design of lobbies, and minor alterations of spaces. It also includes the installation of a new ductless HVAC system, electrical work for LED lighting and panels, plumbing work for new fixtures and systems, fire alarm system replacement, structural reinforcement, and architectural modifications. The contractor is required to provide a detailed schedule with narrative and adhere to specific design responsibilities outlined in the solicitation.

Period of Performance
The main bid design and construction completion time is set at 420 calendar days with alternate bids ranging from 290 to 410 calendar days. Additionally, a complete set of drawings and specs is required within 60 days in addition to the construction completion time.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System - West LA Campus.
