Description

YOSE 228647 Rehabilitate Tuolumne Meadows Water Distribution System.
This project Rehabilitates the Tuolumne Meadows water distribution system that provides an average of 34,000 gallons of potable water a day and a daily maximum of 73,000 gallons to visitor use areas and NPS buildings and facilities.
Background
The National Park Service (NPS), part of the United States Department of the Interior, is issuing a solicitation for construction services to rehabilitate the Tuolumne Meadows water distribution system at Yosemite National Park, California. This system is crucial as it provides an average of 34,000 gallons of potable water daily and a maximum of 73,000 gallons to visitor use areas and NPS buildings and facilities.

The goal of this contract is to enhance the water distribution infrastructure to ensure reliable service.

Work Details
The construction tasks under this contract include:
1) Replacing 37,940 linear feet of outdated water lines made from cast iron, PVC, and HDPE materials, including distribution mains and laterals to all buildings and facilities. The sizes of the replacement pipes will vary between 1-8 inches.

2) Replacing a 100,000-gallon above-ground water tank with a new 200,000-gallon tank, which will be installed adjacent to the existing tank to maintain operational continuity during the transition.

3) Replacing 14 fire hydrants.

4) Installing approximately 57 new water meters and replacing 3 existing meters at all facilities.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for this contract is 1,068 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP).

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Yosemite National Park in California.
