Background
The United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS) is seeking to stabilize the Kingsley Plantation shoreline through a project titled TIMU-335507. This initiative aims to repair damage caused by Hurricane Ian and enhance storm resiliency at the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, which protects over 46,000 acres of natural ecology and 6,000 years of human history along the St. Johns and Nassau rivers in northeast Florida.

Work Details
The project involves repairing existing damage to the shoreline and seawall at Kingsley Plantation. Key tasks include:

- Full replacement of the existing seawall
- Extension of the wall to the east
- Raising the top of the seawall by 18 inches (1.5 feet) higher than its current height.

The construction site is surrounded by preserved historic landscapes, natural habitats, and cultural sites. Unique material delivery requirements necessitate coordination with park management, with deliveries primarily allowed on Mondays and Tuesdays when the park is closed to the public. The construction site is approximately 8 miles from suppliers and lodging facilities, and protective measures must be implemented to ensure surrounding areas remain undisturbed during construction.
