POWERTRAIN FACILTIY AND CENTRAL ENERGY PLANT, P-026, NAS CORPUS CHRISTI, TX   3

The work to be performed provides for construction of a new powertrain facility and central energy plant, which will house rotary wing aircraft component rebuild activities and infrastructure. Primary facilities include aircraft component maintenance facility with flexible manufacturing space to house component maintenance processes, administrative space, rest rooms, support space, a central energy plant. The central energy plant replaces the existing (factory-wide), boilers and chillers that provide heating and cooling and industrial steam for the machinery. The powertrain facility includes special foundations; fire detection, alarm, and protection systems; mass notification systems; energy monitoring and control system connection; and building information systems. Sustainability and energy enhancement measures are included. The options, if exercised, provides for 25 bridge cranes, compressed air piping and drops at process floor area, add electrical bus duct at process floor area, provide additional bus duct sections with associated feeders and circuit breakers, add communication distribution at process floor area, add communications outlets and cable tray, provide galvanized metal duct in lieu of the Fabric duct indicated, and add one structural bay and building systems to the east end.
