Background
The North Gunnison Substation 115kV Switch Installation project is issued by the Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), a part of the U.S. Department of Energy. The mission of WAPA is to market and deliver reliable, cost-based hydroelectric power and related services to its customers. The goal of this contract is to enhance operational flexibility for feeding North Gunnison loads while allowing maintenance of electrical substation equipment.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

1. Demolition and site development, including the removal and disposal of existing pedestals, rigid bus, insulators, and concrete foundations.

2. Furnishing and installation of a 115kV disconnect switch, structural steel, foundations, and associated equipment.

The work includes mobilization and preparatory work (not to exceed 5% of total), miscellaneous sitework, concrete foundations (12 cubic yards), steel structures (2075 pounds), a three-phase disconnecting switch (138-kV, 2000-amps), and associated electrical equipment.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete it within 730 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the North Gunnison Substation in Colorado.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide performance and payment bonds within 10 calendar days after award.
