NGWSP Turnout Buildings

Background
The Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project aims to provide a reliable water supply to the Navajo Nation and surrounding communities. This contract focuses on the construction of Turnout Buildings as part of the San Juan Lateral segment of the project, ensuring that safety and health standards are strictly adhered to throughout the construction process.

Work Details
The contractor is required to prepare and retain comprehensive safety plans, programs, training content, and records applicable to the scope of work. Key tasks include:

1. Developing a site-specific safety program that must be submitted and accepted prior to commencing onsite work.

2. Conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for each phase of work, which must also be accepted before starting any onsite activities.

3. Maintaining documentation for various safety training programs including but not limited to: Confined Space, Forklifts, Electrical Safety, Emergency Action Plans, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment assessments.

4. Ensuring a minimum crew size of two personnel unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

5. Complying with safety regulations outlined in RSHS and 29 CFR 1926, including fatigue management plans and minimum lighting requirements for night work.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will take place within the geographic boundaries relevant to the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project in New Mexico.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate compliance with specific safety qualifications including submission of a site-specific safety program prior to mobilization, acceptance of Job Hazard Analyses for each phase of work before commencement, and adherence to all safety training requirements as detailed in the solicitation.
