Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Denver Service Center (DSC) is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) for construction services to rehabilitate eight residences and a museum at Chapin Mesa, located in Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado. This project aims to restore historic buildings that are significant to the Chapin Mesa Historic District and the Mesa Verde Administration National Historic Landmark District.

Work Details
The project involves the rehabilitation of nine historic buildings, including the Chapin Mesa Archaeological Museum and eight NPS staff residences (Quarters 1-8). The buildings, which are approximately 90 years old, require extensive repairs due to deferred maintenance. Specific tasks include:
- Repointing of exterior stone mortar at the Museum
- Repair of exterior wooden vigas and lintels
- Replacement of exterior windows and doors
- Repair and refinishing of concrete floors
- Replacement of electrical wiring and appurtenances
- Repairs to site drainage at the Museum
- Selective demolition and restoration of original windows at residences
- Rehabilitation of existing foundations and structural improvements
- Replacement of mechanical systems (HVAC VRF)
- Replacement of electrical and plumbing systems
- Installation of fire suppression and smoke detection systems
- New interior fit-out and in-kind replacement or repair of wood floors as needed
- Improvements to site drainage.

Period of Performance
550 calendar days from Notice to Proceed (NTP).
