Background
The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) has a request for Design-Build services at the Izembek National Wildlife Refuge (NWR). This project utilizes Phase II funding for the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) allocated to the Izembek NWR. The project aims to reduce or eliminate deferred maintenance, reduce annual operating costs, remove, replace, or dispose of assets, address safety issues, protect employees and improve retention, and modernize infrastructure.

Work Details
The work will include but is not necessarily limited to: repairs and rehabilitation to refuge quarters and facility buildings including seismic upgrades, addressing electrical and code deficiencies, siding and window replacement if necessary, stair repairs, sprinkler installation, heating oil and avgas tank replacements; replacement of primary water and sewer lines; improvements to the electrical service at the Izembek NWR headquarters area; replacement of a 75kW generator and building; disposal of Wind Turbine equipment at all residences and facilities; demo of several small storage structures and construction of a new pre-engineered metal storage building.

Period of Performance
The design schedule shall not exceed 180 days not including Government review and approval. The construction schedule shall commence upon Government’s approval of the 100% design phase and shall not exceed 300 days.
