Background
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing a contract for a multi-phased infrastructure upgrade at its Mid-Continent Ecology Division in Duluth, MN. The goal is to enhance the facility's capabilities in line with EPA's mission to protect human health and the environment.

Work Details
The contract involves major building construction including laboratory space within an occupied campus. Tasks include installation of laboratory furniture, casework, benches, and fume hoods; centralized piped utilities such as specialized gases and RO/DI water systems; single pass variable air flow laboratory supply and exhaust systems; central boiler and chiller plant installation; hydraulic elevator installation; commissioning including Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB), Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Equipment Start-Up, ASHRAE 110 Testing, Building Automation system (BAS) Controls; primary and secondary electrical distribution systems including switchboards, panel boards, dry type transformers, generators, lighting and power distribution, lightning protection system, CT-rooms, surface metal raceway, and fire alarm.

Period of Performance
The ordering period for the contract is seven years from the date of award.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the U.S. EPA's Mid-Continent Ecology Division located at 6201 Congdon Blvd., Duluth, MN 55804.
