Grand Island Sioux Falls Substations Upgrades   3

Background
The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), part of the U.S. Department of Energy, is issuing this solicitation for the Grand Island Substation Stage 08 and Sioux Falls Substation Stage 15 upgrades in Nebraska and South Dakota.

The goal of this contract is to enhance the station service capabilities at these substations, ensuring improved reliability and efficiency in power distribution. This acquisition is set aside for small business concerns, with a project magnitude estimated between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various construction tasks including:
- Mobilization and preparatory work
- Miscellaneous sitework
- Concrete foundations
- Installation of welded galvanized steel structures
- Modifying existing steel structures
- Installation of combination interrupter switches and fuse disconnects
- Surge arresters
- Pad-mounted voltage regulators
- Automatic transfer switches
- Station service transformers
- Insulated copper cables
- Fused safety switches
- Outdoor AC distribution switchboards
- Indoor AC distribution boards
- Substation grounding systems
- Conduit systems
- Bus systems
- Associated electrical equipment.

The work will also include demolition and retirement of existing outdoor electrical equipment.

Period of Performance
The contractor must begin performance within 10 calendar days after receiving the notice to proceed and complete all work within 360 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will take place at the Grand Island Substation in Nebraska and the Sioux Falls Substation in South Dakota.
