Description

This is a Design Build project which will consist of the stabilization of eight sites along the Cuyahoga Valley riverbank along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, along the Valley Railway and along a connector trail in peninsula from the Towpath Trail to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Department of Interior (DOI), Denver Service Center (DSC), is soliciting proposals on a full and open basis from all interested businesses having the capability to perform the work described below. The project aims to stabilize the Cuyahoga Riverbank along the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, along the Valley Railway, and along a connector trail in Peninsula, from the Towpath Trail to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The project will utilize natural rock rip rap and bioengineering techniques to stabilize eroded areas, clear the banks, place rip rap, rebuild banks, plant native vegetation, and remediate the construction site and equipment access routes. The project is essential for improving visitor experience, reducing erosion, and enhancing water quality and aquatic habitat.

Work Details
The construction tasks involve stabilizing eight sites along the Cuyahoga Valley riverbank along the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail, along the Valley Railway, and along a connector trail in Peninsula from the Towpath Trail to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Stabilization efforts will include utilizing natural rock riprap and bioengineering techniques. The selected Offeror will be responsible for reviewing schematic design preferred alternatives provided by NPS, determining an overall Project Schedule, submitting DB Design Development and DB Construction documents for review and approval, construction of the project, and providing as-constructed drawings. The Contractor shall also provide professional design services unless this responsibility is expressly excluded from the Contract.
