Construction of Concrete Pad

Background
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Global Monitoring Laboratory (GML) maintains atmospheric air trace gas measurement and sampling equipment on tall-towers for long-term atmospheric studies. The purpose of this request is to have concrete poured at a new tower location at Barnwell, South Carolina (ASR 1059177), and to have a shipping container lifted onto the concrete pad once it has dried/cured. The solicitation is issued as a 100% total small business set-aside.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide services required for the construction of a concrete pad to support a 20' shipping container, with specific technical specifications provided. This includes pouring a foundation/concrete pad, determining the need for rebar, thickness of concrete, base layer, etc.

The contractor shall secure the shipping container to the platform through the use of threaded rods installed into the concrete. After the concrete has cured/dried, the contractor will lift the 8 x 20 shipping container onto the concrete. The contractor will also be responsible for obtaining all necessary permits.
