Background
The United States Department of Interior, Fish and Wildlife Joint Administrative Operations is issuing a pre-solicitation notice/synopsis for the WICHITA MOUNTAINS WILDLIFE REFUGE Headquarters, Shop Complex & Bunkhouse Design-Build project. The contract involves the design and construction of a replacement HQ Administration Office, Consolidated Maintenance Complex, and Bunkhouse near the existing Visitor Center at Wichita Mountains in Comanche County, Oklahoma.

Work Details
The services required include the design and preparation of construction plans and specifications, as well as the construction of various facilities. The new HQ Office will be approximately 13,614 SF and will provide administrative support for the refuge. The new Consolidated Maintenance Complex will be approximately 12,000 SF and will provide space for vehicle/equipment maintenance, structural repair/fabrication, dispatch, refueling operations, oil filter/lube with pit in main bay, air compressors system, storage (inside and covered outside), wood shop dust control, storage loft with 200 psf load capacity, and fire cache.
The Bunkhouse will be approximately 2500 SF and will accommodate 31 staff including permanent, seasonal, fire crew and volunteers.

Period of Performance
The design schedule shall not exceed 120 days not including Government review and approval. The construction schedule shall commence upon Government’s approval of the 100% design phase and shall not exceed 270 days.

The place of contract performance is Comanche County, Oklahoma.
