Description

Installation of a chemical injection building
Background
The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Missouri Basin (MB) Region – Regional Office is issuing this Sources Sought notice to determine the availability and capability of small business sources for a contemplated construction project titled: Arkansas Valley Conduit (AVC) Injection Site Phase 1 and Backflow Preventer Site. The AVC is a major infrastructure project that upon completion will convey a reliable municipal and industrial water supply from Pueblo Reservoir to 40 communities serving a projected future population of 50,000 people in southeastern Colorado. The service area includes water providers in Bent, Crowley, Kiowa, Otero, Prowers, and Pueblo counties.

Work Details
The principal components of work include:
1. Installation of a chemical injection building, including a metal building system, chemical storage and feed systems, SCADA system, and supporting infrastructure such as plumbing and electrical.
2. Installation of backflow preventers, including piping, a valve enclosure, power, and controls.
3. Site improvements including perimeter fencing and stormwater detention pond.
4. Installation of 30-inch to 48-inch yard piping, vaults and manholes, various valves, and an engine generator.
5. Flushing and testing installed piping and valving, including furnishing and disposal of water.
6. Disinfection of installed piping at the chemical building, approximately 11.5 miles of 30-inch transmission piping, and approximately 1.5 miles of 6-inch delivery line piping, including furnishing and disposal of water.
7. SCADA installation and commissioning.
8. Fiber optic communication system installation and commissioning.
