Background
The USDA Forest Service is issuing this contract for the design and construction of new facilities at the Grizzly Flats Guard Station, located within the Eldorado National Forest.

The project aims to provide critical support for firefighting operations in the region, which includes mutual aid to the town of Grizzly Flats and coverage of approximately 50,000 acres of forest. The agency emphasizes sustainable building practices and the need for backup power capabilities due to potential power outages.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Design and construction of an engine garage and four barracks, each accommodating six occupants, following Region 5 standards.
- Installation of utility infrastructure including a septic system with a 10,000-gallon tank and a stand-by power system featuring a solar array and generator.
- All associated site work such as earthwork, utility installation, septic system installation, road reconstruction, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), communications systems, and monitoring systems.
- The contractor is responsible for all trades necessary to ensure immediate occupancy by the firefighting crew upon project completion.

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within 14 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed and complete all work within 420 calendar days.
