WRSU – Biohazard Waste Removal Services   2

Background
The Indian Health Service (IHS) is issuing a contract for biohazardous waste removal services at the Whiteriver Service Unit in Whiteriver, AZ.

The mission of IHS is to provide comprehensive health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives. This contract aims to ensure the safe collection, transportation, and disposal of biohazardous, infectious, trace chemotherapy, and hazardous pharmaceutical waste in compliance with all applicable regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Weekly pickups of biohazard waste.
- Quarterly disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste (both RCRA and non-RCRA).
- Provision of compliant waste containers.
- Conducting pharmacy formulary characterization twice annually.
- Supplying all required labor, equipment, transportation, and disposal services.
- Ensuring compliance with EPA, OSHA, RCRA, Federal, Tribal, State, and local regulations governing hazardous and medical waste management.

Period of Performance
The base period for performance is one year with options for additional years.

Place of Performance
Whiteriver Service Unit, Whiteriver, AZ.

Bidder Requirements
This solicitation is set aside for Total Small Business. Bidders must have relevant experience in handling biohazardous waste and must comply with all necessary licensing and certification requirements related to hazardous waste management.
