Womack Army Medical Center IT Services

Background
The contractor will provide qualified personnel, transportation, and services to complete the tasks as outlined within the Performance Work Statement (PWS), in support of all infrastructure, servers, network storage, workstations, peripheral devices, desktop applications (to include software and hardware installations and virus/security updates), print and document management, electronic mail, document management/imaging, Military Hospital System (MHS) systems, local applications, visual informatics and graphics, Video Teleconference Center (VTC), and communications systems at all sites that comprise WAMC. The contractor's responsibilities will include aspects of hardware maintenance and all software support for all workstations, peripherals, and servers.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for various tasks including maintaining LAN user documentation; researching and recommending network and server hardware and software; analyzing and troubleshooting network logs; installing, supporting and maintaining physical and virtual network servers and appliances; performing daily server tape backups; developing network support and archiving procedures; evaluating new technologies related to computer networking; overseeing the day-to-day operation of computer networks including hardware/software support, training, special projects, data connectivity for LAN/WAN systems; providing technical support and guidance to users; supporting the hardware (Server, PC, peripherals), operating system (OS), software infrastructure support; designing, implementing policies and procedures in support of data storage/back-up/recovery, server software/firmware upgrades; managing UNIX, Linux, Solaris, Macintosh, Windows, VMware operating systems within WAMC; gathering requirements for system problems; performing all aspects of assigned IT projects to determine appropriate products or services; ensuring systems are operated according to Army Regulation (AR) 25-2 Information Assurance.
