Description

The Enterprise Digital Intermediate Frequency Multi-Carrier (EDIM) Modem contract will provide design, development, testing, documentation, fabrication, and delivery of production units, hardware and software sustainment, including Information Assurance (IA) and performance capability enhancements for the EDIM Modem, as a replacement to the aging Enhanced Bandwidth Efficient Modem (EBEM) currently supporting Tri-services Satellite Communication (SATCOM) users. The EDIM Modem supports the gradual migration of SATCOM terminals and baseband equipment to a digital Intermediate Frequency (IF) architecture. The EDIM Modem will be employed as the DoD's SATCOM modem by the Army and other Services and Agencies.

Background
The Enterprise Digital Intermediate Frequency Multi-Carrier (EDIM) Modem contract will provide design, development, testing, documentation, fabrication, and delivery of production units, hardware and software sustainment, including Information Assurance (IA) and performance capability enhancements for the EDIM Modem. The EDIM Modem supports the gradual migration of SATCOM terminals and baseband equipment to a digital Intermediate Frequency (IF) architecture. The EDIM Modem will be employed as the DoD’s SATCOM modem by the Army and other Services and Agencies.

Work Details
This Request for Proposal (RFP) is to acquire, deliver, and sustain superior enterprise (strategic) wideband military satellite communications and payload control capabilities for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Joint Warfighting Community. The contract requires design, development, testing, documentation, fabrication, and delivery of production units, hardware and software sustainment, including Information Assurance (IA) and performance capability enhancements for the EDIM Modem as a replacement to the aging Enhanced Bandwidth Efficient Modem (EBEM). The effort falls under the purview of the Project Manager, Integrated Enterprise Network (IEN), Product Manager, Wideband Enterprise Satellite Systems (PdM WESS). The RFP will be competed on a Full and Open basis. The evaluation of proposals and subsequent source selection for award will be conducted IAW Sections L and M of this RFP. The Period of Performance for the resulting award consists of a one-year Base Period with four one-year Option Periods.
