Wi-Iron Riv NFH-Quarters Roof Replacement   2

Background
The Iron River National Fish Hatchery (NFH) is seeking a contractor for the roof replacement of three separate quarters located at 10325 Fairview Road, Iron River, WI. The goal of this contract is to ensure the structural integrity and weatherproofing of these residential buildings, which are essential for the operations of the hatchery.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:

1. Remove all existing shingles, underlayment, rake and drip edging, flashing, nails, fasteners, and debris to expose existing roof sheathing. All demolition materials must be removed from the site and disposed of according to state and local regulations.

2. Install new metal flashing around chimneys and all roof penetrations including plumbing vents, electrical conduit, and air venting (preferred color for all flashings is brown).

3. Install new ice and water barrier, underlayment, rake and drip edging (color of rake and drip edging to match new roof color).

4. Install new standing seam metal roofing in dark brown with a ventilated ridge cap. Cut slotted openings along the entire plywood ridge if necessary to allow attic space ventilation through the ridge cap.

5. Install snow bars along each side of the roof according to manufacturer instructions.

6. Care must be taken not to damage existing gutters and downspouts during installation; if removal is necessary for installation, they must be reinstalled afterward.

7. Caulk or seal all flashing as recommended by the manufacturer to ensure a leak-free product.

8. Clean up the worksite thoroughly to remove all debris and nails using a high-power magnet around the entire house and driveway.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on June 6, 2025, and is expected to be completed by September 4, 2025.

All construction activities will take place at Iron River National Fish Hatchery located at 10325 Fairview Road, Iron River, WI 54847.
