White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) Repair Vehicle Exhaust System, BLDG 23480   2

Background
This project addresses repairs needed to the vehicle exhaust system at Fire Station #2, Building 23480 on White Sands Missile Range (WSMR). The goal of the contract is to ensure that the vehicle exhaust system operates effectively to extract 100% of all vehicle exhaust fumes from the facility engine bays.

The agency responsible for this contract is the Directorate of Public Works, Engineering Services Division at WSMR, New Mexico.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for replacing components and ductwork of the vehicle exhaust system. Specific work requirements include:
- Electrical: Verification and replacement of exhaust system controls and sensors as necessary.
- Mechanical/Plumbing/HVAC: Replacement of the exhaust system fan-motor assembly, installation of a new exhaust stack with a suitable rain cap, new flex hoses, connecting exhaust nozzles, and vehicle exhaust adapters.
- The contractor must also perform hazardous building materials sampling for asbestos and lead-based paint (LBP) as per EPA regulations. If hazardous materials are found, abatement activities must be coordinated with WSMR Environmental Division.

Period of Performance
The total period of performance for this contract shall not exceed 90 calendar days, which includes a Preconstruction Authorization period limited to 30 days followed by a construction phase that must be completed within 60 calendar days after receiving Notice to Proceed.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Building 23480 on Nike Avenue at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), New Mexico, located approximately 10 miles east from the Main Cantonment.
