Weld Hood

Background
The solicitation is issued by DLA Maritime Puget Sound, which is part of the Defense Logistics Agency. The agency's mission includes providing logistics support for the U.S. Navy and other military services. The goal of this contract is to procure a specific type of welding hood that meets unique safety and operational requirements for welders.

Work Details
The contract involves the supply of Comfort Air Welding Hoods from the sole source manufacturer, Blue Alpha Gear LLC. The required specifications for the welding hood include:

1) Kevlar sewn leather hood shell;
2) Replaceable internal air inlet deflector pad (Velcro attached);
3) Replaceable internal forehead and chin pad (same material as air deflector, threaded leather strap attached, Velcro attached);
4) Flip up lens holder;
5) Custom made air inlet snorkel per supplied sample;
6) ¼" black push-on air hose 4'6" long;
7) ¼" male NPT X ¼" push on barb brass fitting;
8) ¼" FNPT X FNPT ball valve brass in-line two-way flow;
9) ¼" MNPT steel body zinc coated quick disconnect coupler;
10) Lens holder dust flap securing bar: Stainless steel bar approximately 1/64" X 5" X 3/8"; and
11) The lens on the hoods must comply with ANSI Z87.1 safety standard. These specifications are critical for ensuring welder safety and comfort during operations.

Place of Performance
The products will be delivered to Bremerton, WA, specifically to the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
