WEAPONS GENERATION FACILITY B EARLY START SITE   4

Background
The contract is issued by the NAVFAC Engineering Systems Command for the early start site work at Barksdale Air Force Base, LA. The mission of this project is to prepare a 53-acre site for the construction of a large industrial project, specifically the Weapons Generation Facility B. The goal is to ensure that the site is adequately prepared for subsequent construction activities while adhering to environmental and safety regulations.

Work Details
The scope of work includes various construction tasks necessary for site preparation, which are detailed as follows:
- Clearing, grading, and drainage of the site.
- Environmental remediation efforts to address any hazardous materials present.
- Building demolition to remove existing structures that may impede new construction.
- Demolition and relocation of existing utilities to facilitate new installations.
- Installation of secure fencing around the Munitions Storage Area (MSA).
- Roadway construction within the MSA to ensure proper access and logistics support.
Additionally, there are options included in the contract for domestic water installation, MEC removal and disposal, natural gas installation, electrical work, underground utility removal and addition.
