Description

The purpose of this modification is to add additional funding to CLIN 0002 through new CLIN 0003, as billing against CLIN 0002, Remedial Maintenance (unplanned parts and repairs), has already occurred through FY 21 funding document N3904021RC10072. To simplify the modification, CLIN 0003 is created to add additional monies in continuation to support CLIN 0002. The contract specialist was alerted to a request on April 07, 2022 to add an additional $130,712.44 to CLIN 0002. This request is in support of 120 Material Handling Equipment (MHE) located at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

Currently, there are approximately one hundred and eleven (111) pieces of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) to be maintained; this number could fluctuate slightly during contract performance. The maintenance services to be covered under N3904021P0066 are essential to ensure the operational availability of the equipment. The MHE that will be covered under this contract supports daily operations and has the potential to impact every effort at the Shipyard. MHE is used for multiple applications and considered essential for operations; Submarine Availabilities, Shipping/Receiving, in-shop work for all Shipyard Shops/Codes, the HX Program for Nuclear Pipe and Bar, and Shop Stores/Shipyard Supply Areas all utilize this equipment. Due to the fact that Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is a fully functional industrial Shipyard, MHE is a critical need. When it is not operational, rental equipment is required to fulfill the need, which is an unnecessary added cost to Shipyard operations.

Funding document N3904022RC20358 adds an additional $240,000.00, though only $130,712.44 will be added to CLIN 0003. The remaining balance of $109,287.56 will be recaptured.

CLIN 0003 has increased by $130,712.44, from $0.00 to $130,712.44.

Total contracted value has increased by $130,712.44, from $1,176,425.06 to $1,307,137.50.

In accordance with FAR 9.104-1, W.D. Matthews Machinery Co. has been deemed responsible via beta.SAM and CPARs.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
