The purpose of this contract is to award the Water treatment contract to the contractor. The Contractor shall furnish all the necessary services, qualified personnel and materials, not otherwise provided by the government as needed to perform the Statement of Work. IH is seeking to deliver to the CUP, water treatment chemicals for the boiler, cooling, chilled water, and other water related systems, as required.

Background
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the premier biomedical research center in the world. Its 27 Institutes and Centers employ 18,000 employees; more than 1,200 Principal Investigators and 4,000 postdoctoral fellows conduct basic, translational and clinical research in more than 75 buildings on the more than 300-acre Bethesda, Maryland campus. The NIH meets its mission using some of the most advanced technology in research and medical diagnostic equipment in the United States. The NIH campus performs research in state-of-the-art animal care facilities, microbiological research, and a 240-bed hospital. The NIH Central Utility Plant (CUP) is the heart of this enormous campus, providing all heating and cooling to laboratories, patient care and administrative facilities while insuring efficiency and reliability.

Work Details
The objective of this project is to ensure the integrity and safety of the Building 11, CUP water treatment system infrastructure by providing and delivering water treatment chemical products for the boiler, cooling tower, chilled water, and other process water related systems that are better or equal to current water treatment chemical products. The project involves tasks such as supply of industrial chemicals to operate and implement the Water Treatment Program for the NIH CUP on a recurring basis over one base year and an annual renewal for four option years.
It also includes account management responsibilities such as ensuring all chemicals are delivered safely to the areas provided by NIH including bulk delivery, neat delivery, and other chemicals.
