Description

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking qualified and capable contractors to submit offers for a water treatment & humidifier upgrade project located in Anchorage, Alaska.

This procurement has no set aside - it is open to all sized businesses.

Estimated size of this project: Between $500,000 and $750,000.

Work included in project:

1. Demolish and replace water treatment system located in Mechanical Room 61.

2. Demolish and replace 13 humidifiers.

3. Install reverse osmosis treated water lines to all new humidifiers and two existing humidifiers and demolition of existing water supply lines to existing humidifiers.

4. Install appurtenances for operation of new equipment, including electrical and control devices.

5. Adjust pipes, bracings, penetrations, controls and power wiring for proper operations of equipment.

6. Test and commission new equipment.

7. Patch and repair finishes to match existing.

Background
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is undertaking a project to upgrade the water treatment and humidifier systems at the Anchorage Air Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) located at 700 North Boniface Parkway, Anchorage, Alaska.

This project aims to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. The FAA's mission is to provide the safest, most efficient aerospace system in the world, and this contract supports that mission by improving critical infrastructure.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Demolishing and replacing the existing water treatment system located in Mechanical Room 61.
2. Demolishing and replacing 13 humidifiers (HU-101 through HU-105, HU-203, HU-204, HU-301 through HU-304, EH-245A, and EH-245B).
3. Installing reverse osmosis treated water lines to all new humidifiers and two existing humidifiers (HU-09 and HU-10), along with demolishing existing water supply lines to current humidifiers.
4. Installing necessary appurtenances for the operation of new equipment, including electrical and control devices.
5. Adjusting pipes, bracings, penetrations, controls, and power wiring for proper equipment operation.
6. Testing and commissioning the new equipment.
7. Patching and repairing finishes to match existing conditions.

The work will be conducted in a secured facility that operates continuously without disruption to air traffic operations.

Place of Performance
All construction tasks will be performed at the Anchorage Air Route Traffic Control Center (ZAN ARTCC) in Anchorage, Alaska.
