Water Strainer Inspection and Cleaning at Watervliet Arsenal, NY

Background
The contract is issued by the Installation Management, Public Works Division at Watervliet Arsenal, NY. The mission of the agency is to ensure the maintenance and operational readiness of facilities. The goal of this contract is to perform inspection and cleaning services for water meter strainers to maintain operational efficiency and compliance with safety standards.

Work Details
The contractor is required to perform cleaning and inspection of seven water meter strainers located at Buildings 40, 110, 120, 125, 130, 135, and Back Flow 4 (Siberia) at Watervliet Arsenal.

Tasks include: pumping out valve vaults full of water for strainer servicing; providing before and after cleaning pictures of each strainer; reassembling the strainer ensuring no leaks; and submitting a detailed inspection and cleaning report that includes pictures, meter numbers, and maintenance recommendations.

The contractor must also adhere to safety protocols including submitting a Contractor Safety Plan, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Acknowledgement Record, and Asbestos Notification Acknowledgement Record prior to commencing work. Additionally, all work must comply with relevant specifications such as UFGS 33 61 13.19 and UFGS 33 11 00.

Period of Performance
The contractor must commence work within 7 calendar days after receiving notice to proceed and complete all tasks within 30 calendar days thereafter.
