Water Softener Salt Delivery FY 2025

Background
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, specifically the FCC Forrest City located at 1400 Dale Bumpers Road, Forrest City, AR 72335, is seeking bids for the delivery of water softener salt for fiscal year 2025.

The goal of this contract is to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality salt for water softening processes, which is essential for maintaining the facility's water treatment systems.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for delivering bulk softener salt and bagged softener salt. The salt must be suitable for regeneration of water softener ion exchange resins and conform to NSF/ANSI/CAN Standard 60 and AWWA Standard B-200.

Deliveries will be scheduled at a rate of 25 tons every 2 to 3 weeks, totaling approximately 22 loads per year. The salt must meet specific quality requirements: it should be 99.6% pure sodium chloride with low insoluble content, resist mushing and bridging, and reduce brine tank residue accumulation.

The analysis range includes a minimum sodium chloride percentage of 99.5%, maximum other salts at 0.5%, maximum water insolubles at 0.1%, and maximum surface moisture at 0.15%.

Period of Performance
The contract will span fiscal year 2025, with deliveries scheduled throughout the year as specified.
