WASTE AND RECYCLE DISPOSAL - LAKE CLARK NATIONAL PARK
Background
The National Park Service (NPS) is issuing this solicitation for waste and recycle disposal services at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, located in Port Alsworth, Alaska. The goal of the contract is to ensure the proper removal and disposal of trash and recyclables from the park, supporting its mission to maintain a clean and safe environment for visitors and wildlife. This acquisition is a 100% Total Small Business Set Aside.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the removal of trash and recyclables from Lake Clark National Park, specifically from Port Alsworth, AK. The waste must be transported to a Recycling Center in Anchorage, Alaska, as well as an acceptable landfill. The contractor will bear all transportation and disposal costs.

The services include:
- Removal of general recyclables such as aluminum, glass, tin cans, plastics #1 and #2, and scrap metal.
- Removal of landfill waste including incinerator ash, general landfill garbage (unrecyclable waste), tires, and appliances.
- Removal of hazardous waste including aerosol cans, bear spray canisters, batteries, and electronic waste.
- Proper packaging of materials for transport: recyclables in super sacks; appliances, tires, batteries in pallets; general batteries in sealed 5-gallon buckets; hazardous materials in hazmat barrels; scrap metal in a 5-cubic yard dumping hopper.
- Estimated frequency of waste removal: twice a year for super sacks; once a year or as needed for other wastes.

The period of performance for this contract is from June 1, 2025 to May 31, 2029.
