Warhead Expansion Boxes (WEB) and Cable Kits   4

Background
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) is issuing this solicitation for the procurement of Warhead Expansion Boxes (WEB) and associated cable kits as part of the MK 48 Mod 7 Heavyweight Torpedo (HWT) program.

The MK 48 Mod 7 HWT is a primary submarine-launched weapon for the U.S. Navy, designed for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare. This contract aims to support the production and qualification of WEB assemblies and cable kits, which are critical components of the torpedo system.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for fabricating, testing, and delivering the following items:

1. **Warhead Expansion Box (WEB) Assembly**
- Quantity: 5 Each
- Part Number: PL8667425
- Testing includes Qualification testing, Pre-Production testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and Proof of Manufacture (POM) testing.
- Deliver one Contractor-owned Thermal Margin unit and one Vibration Margin unit.

2. **WEB Cable Kit Assembly**
- Quantity: 5 Each
- Testing includes Qualification testing, Pre-Production testing, FAT, and POM testing.

3. **WEB Warhead Cable Kit Assembly**
- Quantity: 5 Each
- Testing includes Qualification testing, Pre-Production testing, FAT, and POM testing.

4. **Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)**
- Quantity: 1 Lot
- Not Separately Priced (NSP).

5. **Production Orders**
- WEB Assemblies: Up to 1,400 Each over five years.
- WEB Cable Kit Assemblies: Up to 1,400 Each over five years.
- WEB Warhead Cable Kit Assemblies: Up to 1,400 Each over five years.

6. **Engineering Services**
- Quantity: 16,500 Hours for various engineering tasks as specified in individual Technical Instructions (TIs).

7. **Hardware Repair Services**
- Job basis with a ceiling amount of $533,580.

8. **Other Direct Costs (ODCs)**
- Amount proposed: $500,000 for support of CLINs 4000 and 5000.

9. **Travel Costs**
- Proposed amount: $78,260 for travel related to CLINs 4000 and 5000.

Period of Performance
The ordering period extends up to five years from receipt and acceptance of qualified First Articles.

Place of Performance
Primary performance will occur at the contractor's site with occasional travel required to NUWC Division Newport in Newport, RI and NUWC Division Keyport in Keyport, WA.
