Background
The WA FWS LPO MULTI(1) Little Pend Oreille NWR Culvert Improvements project is initiated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) with the aim of enhancing the infrastructure at the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge.

The project focuses on improving culverts to ensure better water flow and habitat management, aligning with the agency's mission to conserve, protect, and enhance fish, wildlife, and plants and their habitats for the continuing benefit of the American people.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
- Culvert replacement and tie-roadway work at multiple sites (Sites 1-4, 7, and 8).
- Earthwork activities such as clearing and grubbing, excavation, embankment, structure excavation, backfill, and dewatering.
- Installation of riprap for slope reinforcement.
- Construction of structural concrete elements as per specified design standards.
- Compliance with environmental mitigation measures during construction.
- Implementation of sustainable practices in material sourcing and construction methods.
- Participation in formal or informal partnering meetings to enhance collaboration between the contractor and government representatives.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a specified period that includes multiple phases of construction activities across various sites within the Little Pend Oreille NWR.
