Description

Posted: June 16, 2025, 5:13 p.m. EDT

REQUIREMENTS:
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mud Mountain Dam has a requirement for 2 total crane picks on the upstream face. We are seeking a properly sized (see below) crane with operator to install/ remove metal stop logs. Access to the location has a steep grade and will take time to traverse in and out. Counterweights can be installed at the top of the dam; however, any additional counterweights will need to be brought down on a smaller truck as a tractor trailer cannot traverse the grade and switch backs.

Photos are provided (see SOW attached) showing the stoplog lifting beam, access along the upstream side of the dam, and the location where the crane will operate. An additional photo shows a crane placing a stoplog.

Contractor to verify all weights and radiuses prior to mobilization. A full walk through of all the lifts will be required prior to mobilization to ensure appropriate equipment is mobilized.

Contractor will need to supply proper rigging gear to attach to the Govt' provided lifting beam (shackles provided as seen in picture attached) at a weight of 104,00lbs (beam + largest stop log). Due to the inability to access the connection points, this beam is equipped with a pneumatic cylinder pin release mechanism and is required for all picks. Mud Mountain project personnel will operate this device.

1. Pick #1: Requirements for (3) Items - Install Tunnel Entrance Stoplogs (100k @ 40 ft approximately)
Liebherr LTR 1060 or Similar (Telescopic Crawler Crane)
Capable of lifting 100,000lbs at 40'

Crane rental with operator, rigger, and rigging gear required to install 3 tunnel entrance stoplogs on R-3 intake at Mud Mountain Dam. Movement of crane, counterweights, and all other required equipment down to bottom of dam @ 960 deck and back up present an additional challenge due to grade of road. Stoplogs to be installed, weigh approx. - Bottom - 80,0001bs / Middle - 72,0001bs / Top - 52,000Ibs. (Clean and dry)
Work to be done the week of 14 July 2025.

2. Pick #2: Requirements for (3) Items - Remove Tunnel Entrance Stoplogs (100k @ 40 ft Approximately)
Liebherr LTR 1060 or Similar (Telescopic Crawler Crane)
Capable of lifting 100,000lbs at 40'
