Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Huntington District, is issuing this solicitation for the rehabilitation of gearboxes at Deer Creek Lake, located in Mt. Sterling, OH. The contract aims to ensure the operational efficiency and reliability of critical equipment used in hoisting applications by restoring two parallel shaft gearboxes and one right angle gearbox to original manufacturer's specifications.

Work Details
The contractor is required to pick up, clean, inspect, rehabilitate, test, and deliver two parallel shaft gearboxes (Foote Bros. Maxi-Power Parallel Shaft Reducer Gearbox) and one right angle gearbox (Winsmith Speed Reducer Model 8CB). The work includes:

1. Disassembly of existing gearboxes and inspection for cracks or damage.
2. Cleaning and stripping of housings.
3. Replacement of all bearings, seals, gaskets, and O-rings with components that meet original specifications.
4. Rebuilding gearboxes according to original manufacturer's recommendations.
5. Testing each gearbox in the presence of a USACE representative.
6. Preserving and reinstalling existing couplings prior to delivery.
7. Compliance with applicable standards including AGMA and ASTM specifications for materials and testing methods.
8. Submission of shop drawings for approval prior to work initiation.
