Background
The U.S. Army Engineer District, AK is issuing a solicitation for the repair and renovation of barracks B3207 at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. The work includes correcting building deficiencies from normal wear and tear, updating the HVAC DDC controls, resolving mechanical system operational issues, providing new ceiling tile and flooring throughout the building, patching and painting all walls, installing new DDC controls and replacing control valves in all 144 dorm rooms, installing LED lighting and ceiling fans in all 144 dorm rooms, replacing, repairing or painting all exterior doors as needed, repairing exterior EFIS in spots, installing a redesigned downspout, repairing two sewage lift stations, repairing the main mechanical room from recent water damage, adding new additional washer and dryer connections to the existing laundry room, and converting four multipurpose rooms to weight rooms. The contract will be C2 DO rated order certified for national defense, emergency preparedness, and energy program use under the Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) (15 CFR 700), with the contractor required to follow all of the requirements of this regulation.
