Special Notice Special Notice Page 2 of 2 Special Notice Page 1 of 2 The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to solicit and negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price contract with the small business, A&B Technical LLC. The procurement is for the continued and limited rental of a mobile MRI trailer that is currently on site and in service, pending the completion of construction, which accommodates 7 to 12 patients per day. The trailer is situated on a docking pad and supported by facility electricity, telephone lines, data ports, and restroom facilities, with contractor provided technical support staff with knowledge of all Transmission Control Protocols/Internet Protocols (TCP/IP) in order to interface with the VA network. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 532490. This service is necessary to ensure that there are no interruptions to patient care and/or cancellations of exams. Because A&B Technical currently rents the trailer to the Roseburg VA, in order to maintain patient care, and because switching to another trailer for the anticipated limited duration of 4 months would not be efficient, this procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(2) Soliciting from a Single Source, as no other supplies or services will satisfy the Agency s requirement.
