VISN2 Legionella Testing and Analysis   2

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 2, is seeking to establish a contract for Legionella water sampling and analysis services. The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with VHA Directive 1061, which focuses on the prevention of healthcare-associated Legionella disease and scald injury from water systems. This initiative is critical for maintaining the health and safety of veterans receiving care at various medical facilities within the network.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for conducting water sample testing and analysis for Legionella at multiple locations within VISN 2. The contractor must possess a CDC ELITE certification and be accredited by the New York State Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (ELAP). The specific tasks include:
1. Collecting water samples from designated facilities.
2. Performing laboratory analysis to detect the presence of Legionella bacteria in accordance with established guidelines.
3. Providing detailed reports of findings to the VA, including recommendations for remediation if necessary.
4. Ensuring all testing procedures comply with VHA Directive 1061.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a five-year ordering period, commencing on December 1, 2025, and concluding on November 30, 2030.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at multiple locations including but not limited to: Albany VA Medical Center, Bath VA Medical Center, Bronx VA Medical Center, Canandaigua VA Medical Center, Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Castle Point VA Medical Center, East Orange VA Medical Center, Lyons VA Medical Center, Manhattan VA Medical Center, Brooklyn VAMC, St. Albans Community Living Center, Northport VA Medical Center, Syracuse VA Medical Center, Buffalo VA Medical Center, and Batavia VA Medical Center.
