Directed Energy Technology Experimentation Research (DETER) Advanced Research Announcement (ARA) Virtual Briefing for Industry (BFI) Day 2022
Introduction
The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Directed Energy Directorate (RD), will host Virtual Briefing for Industry Day on 14 April 2022. The Virtual BFI will provide an overview of the DETER ARA which will support AFRL/RD in its mission to equip the joint warfighter with next-generation technologies, advanced concepts and weapon system options across all operational domains to become more agile and increase the commercialization potential of directed energy investments to ensure the National Defense.
Objective
The objective of the Virtual BFI is to provide the Government contracting and academia communities an overview of the ARA structure and the acquisition authorities provided by 10 U.S.C. 2373/10 U.S.C. 4004. It provides a forum for industry and academia to gain knowledge and insights into the DETER ARA as well as provide an annual update into the current status of the Open ARA. In addition, the Virtual BFI will offer ample opportunities to communicate directly with the presenters through a live Question & Answer (Q&A) session. In order to ensure all questions are answered in a timely fashion we are requesting that all questions be submitted ahead of time. Please submit all questions using the DETER Question Form (Attachment 2) and submit with your registration form. The Virtual BFI is an excellent opportunity for the Government and Industry partners to meet, enhance awareness, and gain further understanding of the opportunities offered under the DETER ARA.

Registration
To register for the Virtual BFI the following is required:
1. All interested parties MUST complete the registration form (Attachment 1) and return it to the AFRL.DETER.ARA@us.af.mil n o later than 25 March 2022. Contractors must be U.S. citizens. No more than two people per firm will be allowed to attend the Virtual BFI; per firm is further defined as division/subsection of a company. Email confirmation will be sent to the address provided on the registration confirming receipt. A separate email will be sent 24 hours prior to 14 April with the Zoom link for the event.

2. To allow discussions at an appropriate level of detail, all non-Government attendees will be required to be U.S. citizens and must provide a copy of their organization's DD2345, Militarily Critical Technical Data Agreement, no later than 25 March 2022 (prior to being confirmed for registration). Details regarding acquiring and submitting a DD2345 are available on the Defense Logistics Agency/Joint Certificate website https://www.dla.mil/HQ/LogisticsOperations/Services/JCP/DD2345Instructions/. The Joint Certificate Office anticipates providing certification in 30 days or less from receipt of the DD 2345.

3. Attendees who do not provide all necessary items by 25 March 2022 will not be registered for this event.
