Virtual Coding Services BEM AO

Background
The Bemidji Area Indian Health Service (BEMIDJI IHS) is issuing this solicitation for Virtual Coding Services to support the Cass Lake, Red Lake, and White Earth Service Units.
The IHS aims to ensure compliance, reimbursement, and the integrity of patient health records through contracted medical coding services when internal capacity is unavailable.
This contract is set aside for 100% Indian Economic Enterprise (IEE) certified businesses.

Work Details
The contractor will provide off-site medical coding services that include:
1. Coding for Outpatient, Inpatient, Emergency Department (ED), Behavioral Health (BH), Telehealth, and Tribal health encounters.
2. Analysis and review of current and future Patient Care Component (PCC) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
3. Support for revenue cycle management activities and retrospective provider audits.
4. Compliance with official coding guidelines such as ICD-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
5. Ensuring adherence to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Federal, and State regulations.

Period of Performance
Base Year from 05/01/2026 to 04/30/2027, with two option years extending through 04/30/2029.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Bemidji Area Office located at 2225 Cooperative Ct NW, Bemidji, MN 56601.
