VA - Virtual Wellness Services - MRAS

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), in collaboration with the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing comprehensive virtual wellness services. This initiative is part of the VA's broader effort to transition from a traditional, episodic healthcare model to a more holistic, wellness-focused approach. The primary goal is to engage and empower Veterans by offering them tools and resources that promote self-care and improve their overall quality of life. Additionally, the program aims to support VA employees by building resilience and mitigating burnout.

The contract seeks a provider that can deliver online wellness services with unlimited access to both live-streamed, interactive sessions and recorded content. These services will be available for all enrolled Veterans and VA employees within VISN 5, which includes medical centers in West Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and numerous Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The contractor must offer a range of complementary wellness approaches such as yoga, tai chi, qi gong, guided imagery, and meditation. All sessions should be facilitated by certified instructors via a secure and user-friendly platform.

To meet the diverse needs of its participants, the contractor must ensure that wellness offerings cater to various experience levels from beginners to advanced practitioners and accommodate special populations such as older adults, prenatal women, and individuals with mobility challenges. The contract will span five years during which the contractor will provide monthly usage reports and facilitate scheduled sessions for VA events like staff trainings or wellness days with adequate notice.

Through this initiative, the VA aims to enhance the overall health outcomes for Veterans by integrating these complementary health approaches into their standard care regimen. By promoting whole-person wellness through accessible virtual platforms, this program supports the VA's Whole Health initiative a national priority focused on improving Veteran healthcare delivery.
