Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Inspector General (VA OIG) is awarding a sole source contract for the renewal of BankScan software and peripherals. The VA OIG's mission includes conducting investigations and audits to promote efficiency and effectiveness in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Work Details
The scope of work includes the renewal of BankScan software license maintenance, which is critical for converting bank and credit card statements into Microsoft Excel and other electronic formats. The software is used alongside an optical character recognition (OCR) program to minimize manual data entry, thereby saving significant time.

The BankScan software provides unique capabilities that cannot be replicated by any other product, including efficient extraction and conversion of financial data. Additionally, the FileScan module, which works with BankScan, extracts printed check information and scanned data into Excel, further enhancing operational efficiency. Failure to renew this software would result in immediate work stoppage and require VA OIG personnel to seek alternative solutions that would incur additional costs and training.

Period of Performance
The contract has a Base Period of Performance of twelve (12) months, followed by four (4) Option Periods of twelve (12) months each.
