VA - Grout Restoration and Maintenance - MRAS

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Public Buildings Service (PBS), is conducting market research to gather information on capabilities related to two distinct service requirements. The first requirement focuses on custodial and related services for several federal properties in Denver and Boulder, Colorado. This initiative aims to ensure that these government facilities are maintained at a high standard, reflecting both the agency's commitment to operational excellence and its dedication to providing a clean, safe environment for federal employees and visitors.

The custodial services contract encompasses multiple high-profile locations, including courthouses, federal office buildings, memorial buildings, custom houses, and federal garage facilities across Denver. The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive cleaning services that meet GSA's established standards. This includes routine cleaning tasks as well as specialized services tailored to the unique requirements of each building type. The contract administration will be managed by GSA's Central Office along with Zone, Field, or Local Offices which represent Facility Management organizations within GSA.

In addition to the custodial services in Colorado, GSA is also seeking expertise in grout restoration and maintenance at the Puget Sound VA Health Care System in Washington State. This project requires specialized attention due to heavy traffic areas with ceramic tiled flooring that necessitate routine sanitizing and sealant maintenance. The scope of work includes applying protective sealants over approximately 15,394 square feet of tile and grout along with 20,000 square feet of terrazzo flooring. Additionally, quarterly maintenance services are required for 40,000 square feet of tile flooring.

The contractor will perform tasks such as deep cleaning and sanitizing using EPA-approved products against SARS-CoV-2; grout restoration including color sealing; coating removal; installation of protective barriers; and replacement of missing grout with matching materials. These efforts aim not only to maintain but also restore surfaces to a 'like new' condition while ensuring they remain free from dirt, debris, odors, stains, and potential viral infections.
