Assisted Wheelchair Van Transportation Services

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 15, is issuing a contract for assisted wheelchair van transportation services to support the VA Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

The goal is to provide prearranged non-emergency transportation for eligible beneficiaries.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all vehicles, labor, scheduling, supervision, and training necessary to perform assisted wheelchair van transportation services.

Services include transporting wheelchair patients from inside residences or medical facilities to designated delivery points and ensuring they are escorted by authorized personnel at all times. The contractor must provide 'through the door' service and ensure patients are attended by an authorized responsible party at all times.

Drivers must observe patients during transport and report any significant changes in condition immediately. The contractor is required to operate seven days a week, 24 hours a day, including holidays. Additional tasks include handling medical records securely during transport and adhering to restrictions such as not carrying non-VA contract beneficiaries with VA beneficiaries.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a five-year period from November 1, 2022, to October 31, 2027.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the city limits of St. Louis, Missouri, including locations such as John Cochran Division, Jefferson Barracks Division, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis University Medical Center, and other specified medical facilities.
