Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide overnight lodging for VA beneficiaries and their caregivers at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center located in Iron Mountain, MI. The goal of this contract is to ensure that veterans have access to comfortable and compliant accommodations during their stay, thereby supporting the VA's mission to provide high-quality care and services to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide lodging for VA beneficiaries and their caregivers at a facility that meets a minimum 'AAA' certified 'two diamond' accommodation or equivalent 'two star' rating. The contractor must accommodate up to 13 rooms per night, with an estimated need of approximately 18 rooms per week or 80 rooms per month. Rooms must be available from Sunday through Thursday, with potential needs on Friday or Saturday nights.

The facility must be within a 2-mile radius of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center and include amenities such as vending machines, coin-operated laundry, and continental breakfast. Room requirements include:
- Double occupancy for veterans with caregivers
- Single occupancy for veterans alone
- Handicap accessibility for at least two rooms each night
- Compliance with hotel industry standards for housekeeping and safety.

Reservations will be made by authorized VA officials, and invoicing will occur monthly in arrears based on actual room usage.
