Background
The solicitation is for the non-personal services of Acute Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) transportation for beneficiaries of the Bedford Veterans Healthcare System. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with five ordering periods. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, supervision, training, and safety measures necessary to meet requirements of the Performance Work Statement.

Work Details
The contractor is required to furnish Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulance Services to its beneficiaries. Services include patient transport twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week, including all holidays.
The contractor shall provide twenty-four (24) hour ambulance service (ALS and BLS) to VA beneficiaries receiving care at one or more of the facilities listed in the solicitation. The contractor shall furnish ambulance service 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including all holidays for all patients including trips originating at one of the VA facilities. The contractor shall furnish all linen supplies during transport. The contractor shall provide as many ambulances as necessary to furnish timely service or subcontract the job to another company that meets all the requirements in this contract.

Period of Performance
The awarded contract will have a Period of Performance (POP) of One (1) Base Year with four additional ordering periods.

Place of Performance
The geographic location(s) where the contract will be performed are the VA West Haven Medical Center and nine community-based outpatient clinics in Connecticut.
