Maine Ambulance Service
Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this solicitation for non-personal services related to Ambulance Transportation for the VA Togus, Maine HealthCare System. The goal of this contract is to provide essential transportation services for eligible Veteran beneficiaries, ensuring they receive timely medical care. The contract will be firm fixed-price and is intended to establish a reliable transportation service that meets the needs of the VA Maine Healthcare System.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Specialty Care Transport (SCT) ambulance services. Services include:

- 24-hour availability, seven days a week;
- Transportation to and from the Togus VA Medical Center, VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), and other medical facilities;
- Provision of all necessary equipment, personnel, supervision, logistics, and support;
- Management of waiting times and reimbursement for delays;
- Adherence to patient welfare standards during transport;
- Provision of emergency medication boxes;
- Compliance with state regulations for operation.

The contractor must also utilize the VetRide Vendor Portal for trip requests and invoicing.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a five-year period of performance starting from May 1, 2026, with options to extend for additional years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed primarily in Augusta, ME at the Togus VA Medical Center and various locations across Maine including community hospitals and CBOCs.
