Background
The Washington DC VA Medical Center, located at 50 Irving Street NW, Washington, DC 20422, serves over 104,027 veterans primarily from the DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. The facility has 165 inpatient beds and handles approximately 6,100 inpatient admissions and 886,022 outpatient visits annually.

This solicitation aims to procure ground ambulance services to support the medical center's operations in accordance with the performance work statement.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide non-emergency ambulance transportation services including Stretcher Transports, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care Transport (CCT) services available 24/7. Responsibilities include:
1. Providing all necessary vehicles, personnel, management, supplies, and equipment.
2. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
3. Transporting patients along with their luggage and medical records at no additional cost.
4. Maintaining courteous conduct by contractor personnel.
5. Ensuring all medical personnel meet required qualifications and certifications.
6. Utilizing the VetRide Vendor Portal or VA-approved software for transportation requests.
7. Responding to emergency transport requests within specified timeframes (30 minutes for emergent requests).
8. Conducting background checks on personnel as per VA requirements.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance includes two ordering periods: Ordering Period One from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025 and Ordering Period Two from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
