ALS/BLS/BARIATRIC Ambulance Transportation Svcs. for the VA BOSTON HCS   3

Background
This is a non-personal service contract for Ambulance Transportation Service for the VA Boston MA Healthcare System. The contract is a firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a Five (five) Year Period of Performance (PoP). The contractor shall provide all necessary personnel, equipment and supervision necessary to perform these services in accordance with the Statement of Work and all terms and conditions herein.

Work Details
The contract will fulfill the requirements for Advanced Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Bariatric Transport ambulance services for beneficiaries of the VA Boston Healthcare System. The contractor shall provide prescheduled and unscheduled ALS, BLS and SCT Ambulance transportation services Seven (7) days per week, Twenty-Four (24) hours per day for the term of this contract. The contractor shall respond to VA requests for ambulance service by arriving at the patient’s place of origin within fifteen (15) minutes of prescheduled departure time for prescheduled trip requests and within forty-five (45) minutes from the time the order/call is placed by the VA for unscheduled trips. The contractor is also required to notify the COR or designee of any unusual events, including but not limited to accidents, safety problems, and other such incidents that occur.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be five (5) years, with defined ordering periods specified in the schedule.

Place of Performance
The geographic locations where ambulance transportation services will be provided include various VA Medical Centers and Community Care Centers in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, and Rhode Island.
