Background
The contract is for ALS-BLS Ambulance Service for the Cincinnati Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). The hospital serves over 76,968 veterans, primarily from the Cincinnati area and its Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The hospital has 72 inpatient beds and sees approximately 5,914 inpatient admissions and 596,384 outpatient visits a year. The contractor shall provide all required labor, material, supplies, equipment, and supervision of contractor personnel necessary to perform ALS and BLS ambulance service for the Cincinnati VAMC.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide Emergent, non-emergent Stretcher Transports, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care Transport (CCT) Tier 1, 2, and 3 ambulance services on an as-needed basis following all federal, state, and local regulations. The contractor may also be required to transport patient luggage, medical records, medication, and comfort items from pickup points to destination at no additional cost to the VA.
Contractor personnel shall be courteous and always conduct themselves in a businesslike manner while providing services under this contract. The contractor shall have sufficient vehicles and personnel to provide services for up to four simultaneous transportation requests. The number of transports under normal operating conditions will typically range from 10-25 transports each weekday and significantly less on weekends and holidays.

Period of Performance
The anticipated performance periods are as follows: Base Year: 1-June-2024 to 31-January-2025; Option Year One: 1-February-2025 to 31-January-2026; Option Year Two: 1-February-2026 to 31-January-2027.
