Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking to contract ground ambulance transportation services for the Alaska Healthcare System. The goal of this contract is to provide timely and efficient emergency and non-emergency medical transportation for veterans, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The contractor will be responsible for transporting patients, VA staff, and necessary medical equipment as needed.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide emergent and non-emergent stretcher transports, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Critical Care Transport (CCT) services on an as-needed basis. Services include:

- Transporting patients with VA staff and equipment back to the original pick-up location;
- Transporting patient luggage, medical records, medication, and comfort items at no additional cost;
- Ensuring all personnel meet required qualifications including certifications and licenses;
- Conducting background checks on personnel;
- Providing a tuberculosis exposure control policy;
- Maintaining ambulances in compliance with safety standards;
- Utilizing the VetRide Vendor Portal or VA-approved software for managing transportation requests;
- Ensuring timely response times for scheduled and emergent transport requests;
- Allowing escorts for patients at no additional cost;
- Maintaining cleanliness of vehicles;
- Providing qualified personnel for all services under the contract; and
- Adhering to environmental management systems.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed continuously throughout the year, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Place of Performance
Services will primarily be performed at the Colonel Mary Louise Rasmuson Campus located in Anchorage, Alaska.
