Background
The solicitation is for Wheel Chair Van Services for the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System (SLVHCS) and associated facilities. The contract will be awarded for a base year with up to four one-year extension options. The contractor is required to provide 24-hour, 7 days a week service for the SLVHCS beneficiaries, transporting patients to or from any pickup point, floor, ward, nursing home, patient’s home, medical center facility, appointment area office or personal belongings.
The service area will cover a 100-mile radius from the New Orleans clinic and include transports to affiliated VA facilities located in Alexandria, LA; Shreveport, LA; Biloxi, MS; Houston, TX; Jackson, MS; Fayetteville, AR.

Work Details
The work includes providing all ground transportation services for SLVHCS beneficiaries using wheelchair vans. The contractor must furnish necessary personnel, materials, services and facilities to provide wheelchair van transport services. Specific requirements include licensing as a wheelchair service by the State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Bureau of Medical Services to provide Emergency Medical Services.
The contractor must also maintain documentation demonstrating compliance with Federal, State, and County or City codes regarding operation of this type of service.

Period of Performance
The base period of performance is from December 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022. The contract includes up to four one-year extension options.
