Background
The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, located in Charleston, SC, is seeking Medical Courier Services for the transportation of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, patient records, and other related items to various facilities and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) within a specified radius. The medical center provides comprehensive health care through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, women's health, and dentistry.

Work Details
The contractor is expected to provide courier services for the transportation of materials between the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center and the listed facilities. The services include pick-up and delivery of blood and blood components, laboratory specimens, patient records, medical supplies, pharmaceuticals (including controlled substances), mail, small packages/bins, and other related items as requested.

The contract includes specific requirements for daily deliveries to pharmacy facilities which may include controlled substance medications. The performance work statement outlines general requirements for drivers' conduct, vehicle maintenance and safety standards.
